Hi, Ken. I love moussaka but no one else in the family likse eggplant. I also love breaded and fried eggplant. There is nothing better than a lunch of breaded and fried slice salt pork and breaded eggplant fried in the pork grease. I guess that contributed to me being a fat bubba. I have to go to Mother's for that food.

I love eggplant, and grow it in my garden after the temps are above 60 degrees, in the sunny part of my garden. Adding a bit of lime prouces bigger and stronger plants.
Please be aware your seeds from last year's eggplant may be sterile. You may have purchased seeds from a company that sells engineered seeds, gene altered, or genetically modified organism (GMO) Those companies feel the technology would prevent re-use of seed by farmers and gardeners, and force them to make annual purchases of seeds. Monsanto is the largest company in the world that produces seeds, and all of the seed companies they own all produce GMO seed. Monsanto owns most of the large seed production companies worldwide.

FWIW, nearly all my seeds come from places that offer non-GM seeds - Baker Creek, Seeds Of Change, Prairie Moon, and J.L. Hudson.

In any case, response has been sort of weak. I will bring a few transplants, but I don't expect a big response.

Has a date/place been set for the spring swap? Is it for plants, seeds, or both?

We have not discussed a place or time yet (Anybody wnt to start the discussion?). We swap plants, seeds, and anything remotely connected to gardening!

I haven't thought about the spring swap yet, but we could have it again at petals from the past. The parking lot by the barn building was perfect last year, and Jason (nice guy & PFTP owner) said he wants us to come back again for our swap. (He knows people like me will be buying something too!)

Soounds good to me. May 8 would be best for me and Catbird - we could not make it on May 1. I will star a new thread labeled "Spring Swap".

Or "2010 Speing Swap". Whatever. ;-)
