overwintering surprises

Was told these were all doubtful for survival here...

Although late-planted cuttings seem to have perished, all (6) of the persian shield (Strobilanthes dyerianus) plants in my yard are still alive this spring.

No leaves on Bougainvillea yet but I found green when scratching a branch near the ground.

Datura seems to have tiny leaves coming up but I wouldn't swear it's not something else.

Should I be seeing life from Plumbago yet? Maybe a casualty, karma I guess.
