| The BBG spring plant sale starts next week. It is open to members only on April 11th and the public sale starts on Friday, April 13.
Has anyone ever been? Will there be a good selection of plants and what are the prices like? |

| I haven't been to the plant sale since they started having it away from the actual garden--I think they are having it over at brookwood mall where they have had more parking. I used to volunteer with the "native plant group' and would work the sales every year. You could find joe pye weed, Turk's cap lillies, celandine poppies, and other natives that you don't see so much at nurseries. The "herb group" would also have a lot of interesting salvias and stuff. It always seemed to me that popular perrenials like hostas would go VERY quickly, and I could never get one I was looking for before they were gone. A lot of the native plants and herbs are started at the gardens, and a lot of stuff is shipped in from nurseries. Prices are about the same as reasonable nurseries around town, but of course it benefits the garden. |

| I used to go and work with one of the flower societies for more than 10 years. This year it will be inside the former Vincents Market in what they used to call the Brookwood Convenience Center. That is across the parking lot from what was McCrae's/Pizitz's. They always have lots of good stuff. Prices may be a little higher than at your local nursery but they seem to have things you don't see at the local nursery. The profits go to help maintain the Botanical Gardens so it is for a good cause. For the best selection, go on Friday morning. See you there! - Terry |

| I go every year and always find things I want. Truthfully, a lot of the plants offered are basic things you could find in a Home Depot garden center, but there are plenty of interesting things mixed in as well. I've always wished they would propagate more of the rare shrubs in the Gardens and offer those for sale |

| I'm going to check it out this year. My neighbor said she got most of her perennials from this sale & that's it's definitely worth going to. I'd like to pick up a few things at least. |
