Potatoes in chopped leaves and grass

I am trying something new this year. I am taking mostly leaves and a few clippings and growing potatoes in them. As the plants grow I pile more of the mixture around them. Got the idea last year when a very happy potatoe popped up in the middle of my leaf pile. So far so good. I will keep posting on here and my blog the benefits or failures of my experiment. Any thoughts?

The potatoes are looking great! I added some more leaves/grass mixture around them Thurday night. They have already grown quite a bit since then.
