Mark calendars for Etowah Co MG plant sale

If you're in easy driving distance of Gadsden, while you have your calendar out marking the plant swap, put down the dates for the Etowah County Master Gardener plant sale:

Fri-Sat, April 23-24

Sat, May 1 (half-price sale)

Place: 3200 W Meighan Blvd, Gadsden

We're putting up our third, large greenhouse now and have hundreds of thriving vegetable seedlings waiting to move into it. Our existing greenhouses are already filled with a variety of perennials, shrubs, and hanging baskets. It'll be worth a trip and you'll meet some really nice people.

Our prices are very good and proceeds go to good causes like landscaping Habitat houses, schools, and the Red Cross building; working with Girl Scouts; contributing to scholarships for horticulture students at Auburn; maintaining a demonstration garden where members teach gardening classes for the public; and a number of other things.

I'll give directions when it's closer to time. Hope we'll see some of you there.

Last year was the first year I'd gone to the Etowah Co. MG plant sale and I had a great time, lots of different kinds of plants, healthy looking plants and lots of nice folks to help you.....My wife and I are really looking forward to going again this year.......Hope to see some of you folks there.....

Hi Alice, I plan to be there. What time does it start?

This will be the 4th year that I've attended, the first two years I went by myself, but last year my husband went with me. It sure did help to have an extra pair of arms to carry pots of plants.
As I haven't started a single seed this year, I know I will be getting some vegetable plants. I will make a list of other plants that I would like to have.

I' m looking forward to attending. Thank goodness, Spring is almost here.

Joyce: We've added a 3rd greenhouse this year and will have it full of veggies, so start getting your garden prepped!
