Rainfall totals for the year...

Is anyone else keeping up with the rainfall at your house for this year? The local weatherman is stating that down here, we are still in a deficit of over 3 inches for the year with a total just over 13 inches, but I've been keeping a running total at my house in Elmore county and we have had 18 3/10 inches since Saturday's rain event. Much better than last year at this time, thank goodness!
How's everyone else doing on rainfall this year?

You can look at the entire state at COCORAHS. It's interesting to see the wide range of precipitation events from one part of Alabama to the other on certain days. It can even vary widely right here in North Alabama!

rhizo-1...yep, I know about that site, but some counties don't have many regular contributors and I was just curious about how much rain others on this forum were getting so far this year. :)

Jan,

I'm glad I ran across this post. I've kept very accurate rainfall totals this year and was shocked when I stopped to add them up just now: 33.5 inches for the year.

Of course that means nothing come July, August and September, and we're still officially on restrictions, but da-yum! Man, I hope it continues to fall like this!

Hope to see you at Lynn's next month...

Wow...Nelson...you've really been getting lots of rain, haven't you? And I thought I had a good total. :) Yep, I know we could still have a dry summer, but at least the spring has been good so far and it's surely helped the lakes and ponds fill back up.
Anyone else keeping a running total of their yearly rainfall this year? It's amazing to see the differences across the state.

I've been keeping rainfall records for years. The total for our location in Calhoun County is 16".
