Here are a few plant sales for the next couple of weekends. If you know of any other up coming events, please list them also.

Ruffner Mountain Nature Center Native Plant Sale

Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve and Birmingham Audubon Society are getting together to Grow Native and Celebrate Urban Birds for the Ruffner Mountain Native Plant Sale on Saturday, April 14th from 9AM to 3PM.

Thursday, April 12 Members-Only Sale: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Brio Tuscan Grille's Preview Party: 5 - 6:30 p.m. ($45 in advance, $50 at the door)

Friday, April 13 Public Sale: 9 - 5 p.m(Free)

Saturday, April 14 Public Sale: 9 - 5 p.m.(Free)

Sunday, April 15 Public Sale: 11 - 3 p.m. (Free)

Etowah County Master Gardeners will offer a greenhouse filled with vegetable plants during their annual greenhouse sale, which is scheduled for April 20 and 21. Mark your calendars!

The sale will be conducted in the three greenhouses located at the rear of the Etowah County Compound at 3200 W. Meighan Blvd.

Sorry, I could not find the hours for the Etowah County plant sale.

The Huntsville Botanical Gardens Plant Sale is April 19-22nd.

Also, the Madison City Farmer's Market is opening early this year -- Sat the 14th -- and there are always vegetable starts in the first few markets.

The Etowah County Master Gardeners (in Gadsden) will have one greenhouse overflowing with vegetables AND two greenhouses with perennials, shrubs, and trees, plus a lot of plants outside. The vegetables will include about 2000 tomatoes of several varieties, several varieties of peppers, herbs, and others things. Most of the perennials are ones that have been brought by MGs from their own gardens and some are ones that aren't generally available at local nurseries.

The sale will be Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, from 8am-6pm. A half-price sale for anything that is left will be Saturday, April 28, 8am to 4pm.
