shade shrubs

i need a couple of small-2-3-4-ft. growth shade shrubs, if they exist. flowers or leaf interest. i have a few special trades (not on my trade list) that could interest you, if you don't find what you want on the list.
no native or jap. azaleas. have fatsia.

Wayne, I have kerria japonica that does well in shady
places in my yard, and is flowering now (yellow flowers.)
It sounds out runners sometimes, and if I can find one with some roots I will bring.
