| Forcast is saying "probably" the last frost until fall. Do you all feel like this is true? |

| Maybe, maybe not. I always wait until April 15th or later to plant things like tomatoes. They won't do well until the soil warms up anyway. |

| Don't forget, bama, that the 'average last frost' date isn't merely the weather forecast or weatherman's guesstimate, but an established date based on the ACTUAL last frost dates in the past. Here in my part of Northern Alabama, it's April 15. It's a mean (averaged) date, but still a good date to keep well in mind. We may OR may not get another frost after that date, but the chances are pretty good that it's safe. You can call your local extension office for the average last frost date in your location. When I lived in coastal SC, the average last frost date for my particular location was March 15, but it seemed like we always had a frost later than that. |

| Soil temp is still below 60F in my garden as of last weekend, so even if there isn't another frost it's too cool for the warm weather plants. We can wait -- we are fortunate to have such a long growing season that we don't have to count the days like some climates do. |
