OOPS! Swappers re seedlings I thought were little yellow flowers

Mea culpa!! To those at the spring plant swap to whom I gave seedlings I described as small mounding plants with yellow flowers: My apologies. I should know better. Those seedlings were coming up around my pretty front-of-the-border yellow flowers and looked just like them -- till I looked this morning and saw weed flowers developing. Apparently the floodwater that overflowed the gutter in that area planted weeds there. Just toss them, send me an email, and I will bring divisions of the plants to the fall swap. They should be big enough to divide by then and I'll know for sure what I'm giving you. :-(

Well, as Gomer Pyle would say: Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame! ;-) No, really it is good for a laugh. I had a plant come up in a pot years ago and I was sure it was something good. I waited all summer for it to bloom and when it did it was a weed. It happens to all of us. _ Terry

Ha - just saw this, catbird! I put 2 of said specimens from swap in my front bed, they are growing great, about 6" tall now, I sure hate to pull them up! Thanks for letting us know. Mistakes happen all the time in the garden... I'm certain I've pulled up good perennials which I forgot I planted the year before, thinking they were weeds...
