We are going to Montgomery this weekend. Are there any must go to nurseries there or between Dothan and Montgomery that I simply must try?

Quick one before going to work. If you are starting out in Dothan, the Daylily Festival is in Headland TOMORROW! Five gardens are on tour of which one is RicATee. I love this garden, it's not all about daylilies, there are beautiful companion plants galore and I know that Tee sells her curcuma ginger as well as the daylilies. Probably more plants for sale that we didn't talk about. I like the nursery heading north on 231 towards Wetumpka, I think it's called the Montgomery Nursery and then further up 231 is the very large Southern Homes and Gardens. I don't visit there too often. Good luck in your ventures!

Southern Homes has a new store out on Vaughn road in Montgomery. It's a ways out but very nice. They still have the store on 231 but don't have as much as the new store. If you'd like to make a longer trip, a nursery recommended by many is Petals of the Past in Jemison. You would take I65 north exit at Jemison. Take a left at the top of the exit ramp. You will see a restaurant on the right and right past it, take a left. Petals is on the left. It's about another 50 minute drive from Montgomery. I find plants there that other nurseries don't have and the prices are reasonable. The owners will answer any questions you may have and the helpers will go get you the answer if they don't know. All very nice people. Have a good trip. Lynn in Prattville
