Dinner Plate Hibiscus

I have a number of these plants that come back every year. I see them in the garden departments and nurseries that are very bushy. Mine grow with a single stem and then a few flowers at the top. How do I make them grow into a bush?

Thanks!

There are different varieties which grow differently. The Disco Belle-types will bush out and stay relatively low at 5-6 feet tall. The Texas Star-type will grow 8 feet tall and have only 3 or 4 stems. The Fantasia-type grow a few limbs and about 6 feet tall. It sounds like you don't have the bushy type.

I have no idea of the variety :) A lady from a former church gave me some seeds and I've been planting these things all across the state for years!!
I'll just let them grow in their own special way - they are pretty no matter what!
    Thanks for the info!
