I want to tell you about the helpline operated by Master Gardeners all over the state. If you have any question relating to gardening, you can dial 1-877-252-4769. You'll be offered a choice of helplines according to what area of the state you live in - 1 for the Mobile Area, 3 for west central, 2 for east central, 4 for the NW corner and 5 for the NE corner. The Wiregrass region does not have a helpline for that area, I would suggest selecting the Mobile helpline. The Black belt also does not have a helpline, and has its own problems due to alkaline soil - you would be best served by contacting the local extension office.

We don't necessarily have the answer right away but we can do research and get back to you. If it's beyond our capability, we contact the appropriate extension agent.
