You probably won't find it in any local nurseries - it's a passalong plant. Good chance you can find some on eBay. I had a clump at my previous home and used to sell starter plants on eBay - made a lot of extra gardening cash from it! LOL!

I think since you said "mounding" it may be Miscanthus "Morning Light". It often is growing erect at nursery as a young plant but quickly billows out and over. It's by far the most planted of the ornamental grasses it seems.

If you do want the variegated Arundo, Plant Delights has a nice one. I'm growing mine in large container since it does spread by rhizomes/roots, though not as fast as Bamboo. The Miscanthus just increases in diameter/size but will make a huge clump fairly quickly. josh
