Why is my St Augustine lawn seeding and how do I prevent it?

You can't prevent it. Grasses go to seed in response to environmental factors such as day length, temperature, rainfall, etc. St. Augustine also responds best to high moisture content, high fertilizer rates, and a high mower setting.

Allowing your turf to grow longer may improve its ability to tolerate other cultural problems.
