Late blight and tomatoes

Late blight has devastated my tomatoes. Part of the blame attaches to me - in June I had an upper respiratory bug that made me so sick that for several weeks I was too ill to go out and spray the garden with fungicides, and it got a foothold during that time. I've read that once it gets started, nothing can really stop it, just slow it down.

Black Krim and Juliet seem to have some resistance. I have Golden Gooseberry growing in a container in a separate area and it is fine, as are Black Krims growing beside it - so proximity to infected plants is a big factor.
