 o
mulch/groundcover?

So far, I have always used pine straw mulch in my gardening. But am now wondering if there is a better way. What has your experience been in using groundcover plants instead of mulch? Do they do as well in keeping out weeds and conserving moisture? What are your favorite groundcover plants and what do you like about them?

One of my shaded areas has Lamium 'Yellow Archangel' and it does a great job of suppressing weeds. Linda

Phoo, I should have added, "what is good in the full sun".

Asian jasmine sure is popular here for a groundcover. I used to wonder if it would be bad like wisteria, but many people say it doesn't climb. It's growing in front of our post office here in Atmore, and I have never seen it trying to climb the Japanese maple in the middle of it.
