 o
Type of Butterbeans grown in South Alabama

I am originally from Alabama but now live in North Carolina. I had family members in South Alabama that grow a butterbean that turned a dark grey when cooked. They also grew the green ones, but i liked the ones they called colored butter beans the best. I have tried to find them in North Carolina, but nobody seems to know what I'm talking about.

Can anyone tell me the actual name of this bean?

Thanks,

Marilyn

Maybe one of the speckled butter beans? They are extremely common in the south.

Florida Speckled is the most productive and the one grown extensively in the lower south
I find most of the colored varieties do better than the white
