Cure for Cold - (for plants)

Did anyone see the article in 08/11/08 Birmingham News about a spray developed by Univ.of Alabama grad-school professor David Francko which allows plants to withstand temperatures of 2.5 to 10 degrees lower than they normally would? Cut and paste this URL to read the article: http://www.al.com/birminghamnews/stories/index.ssf?/base/news/121846233758610.xml&coll=2 I'm sure Alabama's peach growers will be very interested in this product. The article says you only need to spray it twice a year. Just think, there are many years when we get a frost in mid-October and then it is another 4 to 6 weeks before we get another. This could extend our growing season by weeks. The agricultural food industry could receive a significant boost. Let's just hope it isn't too expensive once it is marketed.
