| Having had not a lot of luck with any of these so far in Alabama (Huntsville area), I am wondering, when do you plant annual poppies and sweet peas from seed? In the fall? Mid-winter? My early spring-sown sweet peas germinate fine, but fail long before getting to flowering. Poppies, I've had better luck with p. orientale than the annual varieties.
Lupine is another big fail for me - I get nice healthy looking plants (also started from seed), but they die before maturity - I've tried them both in containers and in the ground. Advice? Thanks in advance, Kim |

| Plant poppies right now. The others, sadly, forget. |
