Got a Heavy Frost Sunday Night 11/12/06

Well, I got my first heavy frost last night. Houses in my neighborhood had frosted white roofs and I had ice on the car windows. I'm sure the single banana tree I left standing, the one with a stalk of bananas, is brown now. It has been a long run of good weather, from April 1 through Nov. 12, seven-and-one-half months. Plus the leaves have been the prettiest I've seen in several years. Oh well, winter has to come. May it be another mild and short one!

I was just counting, including this morning, I've had 5 freezes(32F or lower) and 7 frosts of varying severity. My first frost was October 15, the second earliest I've had since keeping track. I feel the opposite about winter, I really want a cold one!

I just barely made it through last nite above freezing...my low was 33.4F. I'm still frost-free up here on my ridge, but don't expect it to last much longer. I agree Terry... also hoping we have another short 9A winter.
