Landscape plant to offset loropetalum?

I have an area across the front of my house where I've just removed some old shrubs and am in the process of planting new loropetalum. The wall is about 30' across with some nice cleyeras on each end which I'm leaving alone. The loropetalum will be planted in between them and will be kept separate, not grown into a hedge. On that wall of the house there are two windows and the roofline rises to a point between the windows, so I would like to add something else in the middle of the wall that's taller and adds a little something else to offset the low loropetalum. My first thought was a crape myrtle, but with the bed only being 3-4 feet out from the wall I don't know how well that would do. Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
