WANTED: Bulbils putting out scapes?

I planted some German Red bulbils last fall for the first time. So these are first year bulbils and low and behold, most of them are putting out scapes. I am excited because I want to increase my stock but also confused that this is happening so early. I was expecting to harvest the rounds and replant in the fall. Does this mean that I should discard the rounds that these scapes are growing from? Would like to hear from anyone with experience in this area.
