| Hi,
If someone could tell me how to properly refer to these I'd appreciate it - I know they're red onions but bunches or sets I don''t know. My plan is to cut off the dying shrively green leaves/stalks and plant them in a raised bed (9 to a sq ft) after dumping a handful of dehydrated cow manure in the hole as I read somewhere else that nitrogen is good for onions since the leaves are the layers of the onions. Questions: 1. Is it ok to cut off the tops so new growth can start? 2. If so, how deep should I plant them - with just the open part of the cut leaves at the surface? Any help is appreciated! |
