| Heard a conversation regarding using store bought green onions for planting. I decided to see how little onion was needed for growth. Over the holidays while trimming greens for dinner; I took 1/4" section, with roots and potted it.
This week noted a green 1/2" sprout. Guess it doesn't take much! |

| As long as there are at least a few portions of a root or two, and the central growth whorl is still intact, they will grow. Martin |

| I have been cutting leek bottoms and replanting them. So far the best results have been if It still had 2.5" on the bottom. I bury them with the cut part even with the dirt. I often get a new leek as big as the first in a month and a half. |
