Leeks,dtm, and growing through the summer

| I just started some leek seed today so they can be set out with my onion transplants. I was wondering what happens if I leave them in the ground all summer, since that would go way past their day-to-maturity? Would they still be good enough to eat or harvest come October? Or would it be better for me to start another group for fall and winter harvest sometime in summer? The variety is Lancelot, with 95 dtm. Thanks! |

| I grow Lancelot! The leeks in the photo were started from seed in January, transplanted out to the garden in late May and harvested October 23 (date pic taken) after a handful of frosts. They tasted great. :)

| Wow, beautiful! I wonder how they will handle the heat here in summer. and if mine get as big as yours, I will be swimming in leeks all winter! :) |
