My Garlic Forest

I still had a few garlic bulbil clusters left over from planting time that were sprouting. Just for fun I planted an entire cluster in a pot a month ago.

I count 14 plants, the tallest ones are 12 inches. Nice to see something green and growing...

Will you plant them out this spring, and will they grow large if you do. Love the green.

Hi Curt. I don't know what I will do with them but I know I will not plant them out - I planted thousands of these bulbils in beds last fall. I have been thinking of using the leaves like chives - found some recipes online. I do know that these bulbils produce small, very tender and delicious scapes so I will probably wait and harvest them.

Curt, how is your indoor gardening going this winter? I read some of your posts and sounds like you are having fun. I would love to see some photos of what you grow - I am curious. The garlic you traded me was all planted last fall with my others. It will be interesting to see how they do. Around 6 weeks from now I will be moving back the straw mulch to see if the garlic is sprouting - I planted my biggest crop ever and can't wait to see if all the work will pay off!
