I asked about these on the Vegetable forum, it's pretty slow over there so I'll ask here. I bought a bag of these on sunday at the local Seedy Sunday we have every March. The lady who was selling them said they were a French Shallot originally given to her by her Portuguese neighbor. I've grown several varieties of shallots over the years but none as big as these. She said she uses lots of manure. I'm now wondering if these are really shallots or are they potato onions, or... is it just the excellent growing conditions she gave them. Have any of you seen shallots this big? Not the greatest picture but here's 5 of them in my hand which is not that small. Annette
