| Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum so I hope this is the correct place to post this. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a US source for three-cornered leek or at least a source that ships to the US, or if anyone has seed or bulbs for trade. Thank you for any help! |

| The problem with the Allium family is that it is huge and most species are wild and are known as "wild leek", "wild onion" or "wild garlic" somewhere. I think that in general though, "wild leek" refers to Allium ampeloprasum (which is the species elephant garlic, babbington leek and "pearl onions" are in). However, it is very possible that Allium triquetrum is refered to as "wild leek" too. One easy identifier for it is that the stems and leaves have a triangular cross section. I'm including a link to Wikipedia's photo of the leek in bloom. I guess lots of people grow it as an ornamental although I'm interested in it as a vegetable. Thanks! |
