Onion seedlings after 2 years?

The onion seedlings that I buy come in bunches of 40. 3 varieties times 40 = 120 plants, which is more than I have room for in my small garden. Will they still be good to plant next year, or should I just give them away?

You should give them away, they'll never last til next year.

You could also plant them at 3x your final density, and thin them out for green onions as they fill in.
