onion transplants

I planted the Copra transplants I got from Dixondale today. It's going to be in the mid 30s at night this week -- did I jump the gun? I didn't water them in. If it's too cold, could I possibly remove them tomorrow and save them 'til it's warmer out? Is there a temperature below which it's too cold to plant them?

Also, the bed I used was sunny all morning, but went into shade at 2:30 p.m. because the trees to the west of the garden have grown tall. They might get more sunlight hours as the sun's angle in the sky gets higher. Is there a minimum # of hours the plants need to develop right? I've seen varying recommendations, from 7 hours to 14 hours!

Thanks.
