garlic too close together

| I'm not quite sure what to do. A few days after I planted my garlic back in October, my dog got into the garden and dug up some of the cloves. I was very careful about my spacing (thank you Gardenlad) and I had to replant. Now that my garlic is up and about 12"-14" high, I can see that I have a few plants that entirely too close together. Should I just leave them to grow and chalk it up to experience (I immediately fenced in the garden to keep the dog out) or do you think I could separate them now without harming the bulbs? |

| How about moving a few and leaving some where it's at.....an experiment of sorts.....then let us know how it turns out. You can also harvest out some of the garlic "thinnings" and use it as green garlic. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens. |
