So I think I have onions growing. I need some advice.

So the house near my sis in law was foreclosed. We looked around and notice stuff growing. Her dad in law said, "Hey those are onions! Here take them home and plant them!" So he grabbed a few and I planted them back in July. I ignored them until the other day when I noticed they were actually growing. Should I leave them alone till next year? Pick them now? Later? I have no idea from onions:

seems to me that if they were onions they'd have bulbed last summer. i believe that in year 2 onions produce seed. not sure what you have but they do not seem to be onions, not any i am familiar with.

They look like Egyptian onions to me. They're starting to bloom as I can see 2 little bulblet on them.

Ok.. wow. I just looked them up a bit more and I have to say I have NEVER seen anything like this. They seem to be quite happy where they are so maybe I'll experiment next year too!
One thread said that everything is edible. Do you have to cook the stalks or do you just chop them thin?
