| I have several different kinds of ornamental allium that I need to move to a less crowded location. These bulbs do just fine staying outside year round in my zone. I haven't cut the spent blooms or the stems off yet. When would be the best time to dig them up and replant and when should I cut them back? Appreciate any info anyone can provide. Vikki |

| I'm not sure about ornamentals, but in my little part of the world, onions and garlic will go through a 2-3 week dormant spell in the hottest part of August. Most, if not all of the leaves will turn brown. This is the best time for us to transplant them. -Nick |
