onion tops falling over

my onions are falling over a bit premature,

I planted starts mid april here in MD, and it's been about 2 months and the tops are falling over, onions are golf ball sized.

do I need help, or harvest?

There's nothing that you can do about it once they flop. At that point, usually it's "what you see is what you get". They may have missed a watering at an important point of growth or ran out of nutrients. My own white onions from sets began flopping a week or so ago, much to my disappointment. I expected much more growth than what is apparent. However, most of the yellow plants are still erect.
