Garlic ?? New to food planting.

I have a raised bed on the south side of my house that has gone to pot due to lack of care on my part. I originally built the bed five years ago with rambling rose bush and a rose of sharon; used lava sand, green sand, lots of compost, garden soil, peat moss and crushed granite. Would this bed be okay to plant garlic in? I would appreciate any help getting started. Christina

It sounds fine for growing; does it drain well?

You will love growing garlic. It's a great winter crop.

Sounds like a lot of sand. Garlic likes sandy loam soil. Too much sand will dry out too quickly and then you will have to water daily.
