Plant now, or wait 'til fall?

A friend gave me dozens of gladiator alliums that didn't bloom for her this year (too much shade). Unfortunately, by the time she got them to me, all the leaves had died. So, do I plant them now, or wait until the fall? (I'd guess they won't bloom for me next year, either, now).

Wait until the fall. They love the chill. Cover them with mulch. I just use my fall leaves and by spring, they're growing on black gold!
