Allium bulgaricum aka Nectaroscordum sicilum ssp Bulgaricum

I've enjoyed these strangely beautiful flowers for several years. If I wanted to dig some up to share, when is the best time, or does it not matter too much? They've done flowering but haven't died back yet. I live in NH, zone 4/5. A follow up question: After digging up, what is best procedure? Simply replant or wait until after frost and meanwhile cure the bulbs?
Thanks so much.
