Next year I want to try growing my own onion plants from seed. This year I planted plants in late-winter and got a good harvest of sweet onions, but they didn't grow as large as I'd hoped.

When do I start seed in Middle GA for plants? And when do plants go in? Someone in south GA told me to set plants out in October? That seems too early?
