Onion Harvest Advice needed

Hi Folks,

Been gardening for over 50 years and just not sure what to do with the onion harvest this year. I have one row of Walla Walla and one row of Stuttgarters (sp?) Total of 100 feet of very nicely developed and "almost" ready to harvest, tops are just starting to yellow, bulbs nicely formed. It's rained every day for the last week and a half. The Weather Alert Radio keeps sounding to revise the "flash flood and high water alert," etc. Current weather prediction shows rain every day through at least Thursday.

My question is, should I pull the onions, spread them out in the barn and hope they'll dry? The Humiditiy was 92% this morning, the temp and humidity has been in the 80's with this rain, and I can just envision them rotting there. If I leave them in the garden, sitting on top of the ground and getting rained on they would at least get some airflow and occasional sun.

Ideas or suggestions welcome!

Thanks for your time,

Ev
