How to tell the difference between Walla Wallas and Copra onions?

I normally plant WW's and Copras, divided by reds, and labeled so I know which is which. But this year I was pretty sure the onion plants came to me mis-labeled -- the ones labeled WW were small and yellow, the ones labeled Copra were bigger and whiter. So I didn't bother to label my beds because I figured I'd watch to see which one acted like WWs -- got bigger, flatter, fell over earlier, were lighter color, etc.

Well . . . both beds look the same to me now.

I'd really like to know which is which so I can harvest a bunch of WW's to take with me on vacation, and leave the rest to be harvested in September.

Is there anything anyone can suggest I look for in order to be able to tell them apart? Both beds are still mostly green, a few are laying over, the size and colors and shape look basically the same to me, though I have a feeling an expert would take one look and identify.

All suggestions welcome!

Thanks.
