Favorite onion varieties for dehydration?

The Mars onions I raised are not storing well. They seem to have a fungus at the center top of the bulbs. I plan to dehydrate some as an experiment and freeze the rest. On the web I read that the Southport Globe onion is first choice for dehydration as it has the most solids.

What varieties have you raised or dehydrated with favorable results?

Walla Walla sweets are my favorite...I live 20 miles from where they're grown so that helps a lot. Last year I did some candy sweets with good results.
