curing in a sauna (off, of course)?

zucchini

I have only been growing garlic for a couple of years...

first bought garlic from a local farmer, since then just grow what grew....I am an organic gardener...and we have very cold winters...So far I think I dig them up too soon..

this year I am trying to wait. A couple were rotten..a red worm in one...others I dug (3) look good. I have about 50 plants...I have in the past hung them in my sauna. Now when reading and I hear they need air cirulation I guess I have to figure out another place to hang them? They cured well in the sauna...

I have no idea of the variety other than yes, hard neck, great scapes (for eating yummm)..I would like to try a variety this fall..but my big question now is:

Should I cure them in another place? I also have sometimes peeled off the outer layer before, is it best to leave that on even if it is hard to get the earth off??

thanks for some info...Martha/Zucchini
