Newbie garlic grower needs answer

This year was the first try at some garlic for me. I've

been a gardener (mostly tomatoes) for years.

Plants were elephant garlic and grew well and healthy.

I probably waited too long to harvest, but that's not

why I'm here.

When harvesting, I also found a fairly large number of

what I'll call bulblets around the bottom of the heads.

Similar to the bulblets you find at the bottom of some

lily plants.

Is there an official name for these things? They're mostly

shaped like a small clove (about a nickel size and smaller)

but some of them are round. One large one came up that's

round and a couple of inches in diameter and there's a few

more round ones, but most have one side kind of flattened.

What do you do with them? Can you replant them (I suspect

that's a possibility) and get full size heads next year?

Thanks for any replies.
