Looking for some Softneck Garlics

Hello folks,

I am COMPLETELY new to growing Garlic, I have been reading and researching and I am now ready to add this to my vast list of growing things.

The websites I have seen that sell Garlic only sell it in 1/2 pound sizes. I want to try as many softnecks as I can and I don't want to spend THAT much money. Yes, I am cheap! LOL

If anybody has any extra named bulbs or even some named cloves, I would love to trade with you.

You can check out my trade page, though slightly out of date. Ask if you see something, I might still have some. I also have (not listed) some Cocoa Seedlings. The kind you make chocolate from.

I have a bunch of different hot pepper seeds if that tickles you.

I just grew garlic for the first time and harvested in June. I'm hooked. I got it from SSE and ordered more for this fall, but I'll also be looking at the gourmet farmer's market. You should be able to find some at any farmer's market, but it may not be a named variety. Have fun!

Darren,

With all due respect to Penguin...please avoid buying from the big seed stores. There are many great smaller guys out there that will help you decide what you want and for a fraction of the price.

May I suggest you look up:

All these are .com
I believe all three of them are nice people and will assist you on a personal level where the big boys don't have time.

TheGarlicStore.com is a family business. At least they say so on their site in a couple of pages. ;)

Their site is packed with a wealth of information and their front page says, "Help Support Small Organic and Natural Farmers in the USA" which I interpret as they also sell for other small farmers who may not have the resources to have a webpage.

Sorry garliclady, just saw your post. Been trying to get out to the one in Matthews, hard with 2 small children and 1 more on the way my Saturdays are pretty full. Especially if my husband ends up having to work, like today. Would love to come up and see you guys but I think it's an hour or better. (I'm in south Charlotte.) hard to do with 3 and 1 year old but maybe it's not so far?
