Just my opinion here, I plant peas back into the soil to add some good stuff back after the garlic is out. I only grow garlic though.

I put potatoes in after garlic adding a bit of fertilizer beforehand. I do this every year and the garlic seems to purify the soil so the usual diseases which inflict potatoes don't seem to be a problem.

It might be a bit late for peas, however, as they don't do well in hot weather and are much more likely to be bothered by powdery mildew and other diseases late in the year.

I grow bush beans, swiss chard, beets, and this year, threw in a huge bed of basil. All seeds have sprouted, and off we go. Beets and chard will take a light frost, so they're usually in the mix.
