you are in ct and NOW is the time to buy garlic locally for planting in october. local garlic is cheaper and aclimated to our area.

if you can, start onions from seeds in mid february. plant out in april, harvest in august. buy plants locally not from mail order. NEVER use sets!

I always get my garlic from Seedsof Change. They've got a bunch of different varieties, and it's nice trying different types of garlic. I was wondering why the second post said to never use sets? I was planning on starting sets out next spring to try and grow onions.
