 o
corn gluten at same time as planting garlic?

If I work corn gluten into the soil before planting my fall garlic, will it prevent the cloves from sprouting? Thanks.

Bob

Bob, since no one else has replied I'll venture a guess. I don't believe that corn gluten meal would present a problem for bulbs, tubers etc. Corn gluten meal inhibits the germination of seeds. I say go for it.

Thanks! aka peggy. What I also would expect. I have only 5 lb to plant and a long time window, so I'll do half and half and report back. If one half doesn't sprout, I'll pull it up and replant farther down the bed. Thanks again.

Bob, First time I haven't had to weed garlic and onions extensively 3 or 4 times. No apparent effect on either.
