I was wondering if anyone could tell me why my garlic seems to lose the coloring of the wrappers around the cloves after it grows in my soil here.

When I get some of my seed garlic it has nice red streaks and purple coloring in the clove wrappers but when I harvest and cure it there is almost no trace of color on the wrappers.

Am I needing something added to my soil maybe iron?

The garlic does well and sizes up nicely in my soil but I would like to have some of the colors with it that I see in other garlic from other growers.

Garden Lad or garlic Lady do you have any ideas on this?
