Rain and onion harvest

Hi all --

I am a first time onion grower and my onions are about ready to harvest -- I have both yellow and red and they are all a good size and the tops are flopping, though still green.

My question is -- we just got two days of heavy rains, but while it shouldn't rain that much more to come, this whole coming week is supposed to be cloudy with passing showers. I know a hot dry spell would be the best for harvesting, but I don't want to leave them in the ground too long in wet / cool weather.

Advice? To harvest, or not to harvest... And if I do, should I dry them inside where the humidity might be a bit lower?

Thanks!

Emily
